Maayong pag-abot. Tuloy po kayo. Welcome. I am Leng Leng, an immigrant from maynila, daughter of bisayans from bohol and cebu, philippines; currently settled in the east bay area, california. it is an honor to learn laga (traditional Kalinga backstrap weaving of the indigenous peoples of the northern Philippines) from master artist jenny bawer young as part of the ACTA apprenticeship program. last winter,  i learned how to use the adze, a carving tool, to build a bangka (canoe outrigger) and paddle-making. the bangka travels across the oceans and build connections between peoples. i hope to bridge and enhance my knowledge base of kalinga laga and share it with the bangka journey community.
